The Car Club Challenge!

Go Head-to-Head with Car Clubs in Your Region

The Car Club Challenge

Drive Toward a Cure hopes to inspire local car clubs to engage in a little friendly competition with other clubs by trying to see which can raise the most money and cover the most miles in support of Parkinson’s Disease research and patient care!

We’re ALSO looking for regional sponsors with great car club connections to help us inspire competition. Get in touch to explore opportunities to gain great exposure for a very minimal cost.

Your Club Events Can Do Some Good!

Don’t just go for a drive… Drive Toward a Cure by setting up registration for your club driving events to also take donations that will support Parkinson’s Disease research and patient care! Who knew your club drives could become powerful fundraising events?!

You don’t have to create new drives especially for us — if you’re already hitting the road, then that’s all you need to join the Car Club Challenge!

How It Works

By multiplying the dollars raised in each event by the official mileage covered by your participants, each club will accumulate “Drive Toward a Cure Miles”.  Whichever club has the most “Drive Toward a Cure Miles” at the end of the year will be declared the winner!

The winning club isn’t necessarily the one that raises the most money outright. And it isn’t necessarily the one that covers the most miles. The simple mathematics means that any club can be in it to win it! Gain generous donations from your participants over a few events, or raise more modest donations over many events… either course could make your club a winner!

What We Provide

  • Instant participant tax receipts by email upon payment.
  • Vinyl cling window stickers that are easily removed without causing damage or leaving any sticky residue.
  • Drive Toward a Cure Brochures to give your participants a sense of why you’ve chosen to support Parkinson’s Disease research and patient care.
  • Souvenir lapel pins.
  • COMING SOON: Magnetic door signs for organizer vehicles and event banners will become available for events that meet minimum fundraising goals – watch for more details.

Easy Registration Page Setup

  1. Create a free account.
  2. Click the “FUNDRAISING” button.
  3. Click the “+ Create New Page” button.
  4. Choose the “Car Club Challenge” campaign your event will compete in and click “Next”.
  5. Enter your event details, pricing, upload a photo and/or your club logo, and when you’re ready, click “Save”.
  6. Check your page and when you’re ready simply share your page URL with your members and encourage them to sign up!
  7. After the event, return and enter the official event mileage.

Financial

COMING SOON: If you have event costs that you want to collect in advance, you will be able to use your fundraising page to collect those costs in addition to participant donations. This means participants only need to register once and only need to make one payment. And it means we can issue a tax receipt for the donation portion of their payment.

We collect payments and forward the event costs back to you – a method that we have engaged in with groups including NCM Motorsports Park. We’ll be happy to discuss the payment method and timing to make sure everybody’s needs are met.

Of course, many club events require participants to pay for their own food, drink or other costs, which – of course – is always a simple option.

No Car Club Challenge Near You?

You can still create what we call a Drive Toward a Cure Day event. Follow exactly the same steps outlined on this page EXCEPT, instead of choosing a “Car Club Challenge” campaign, choose the campaign option “*General Drive Toward a Cure Days”. Prepare your page, share the URL with your members, and that’s it!

Unless, of course, you’re inspired to sponsor a regional challenge…? Keep reading below.

Sponsor a Regional Challenge

Here’s all that’s needed to sponsor a regional Car Club Challenge:

  1. Pick a time period for the regional Car Club Challenge. We recommend picking an annual event – create one if you want! – and using that as the kick-off event this year and the place you can present a winner next year! (Note: the challenge doesn’t necessarily need to extend over a full year.)
  2. Use your contacts to engage clubs across your chosen region.
  3. Sponsor your “Car Club Challenge Trophy”. We will prepare a trophy with your name and logo on it and provide it at our cost for you to present. It’s a truly affordable way to keep your brand awareness up and associate with a truly great cause.
