At Drive Toward a Cure® we’re all about helping others who can’t help themselves – specifically those living with Parkinson’s.

Since 2016, our friends in the automotive community have become even more than friends -- a true car family -- helping us to raise more than $1mm to benefit programs and directives for Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, our own ‘Special Assistance’ and ‘Access to Care’ grant funds were created to make today's challenges for individuals and groups a bit easier.

Now - and with YOUR help -- we’d like to give back to someone in our own automotive family, who’s been challenged with Young Onset Parkinson’s since 2018 and needs additional support, ranging from transportation for his neurological appointments to daily care resources and support groups. 

For those who may have known PR maven KEVIN SMITH through the decades – during his time serving SAAB, Cadillac, Lotus, and Genesis – you’ll likely recall his bright smile, true kindness, and love of cars. He now needs our help. We want to assist with his many challenges related to Parkinson's and the limited mobility he now has — and you can help.

Drive Toward a Cure will match a collective total of $5,000, and we hope to top that. So, with a contribution of ANY monetary level, either personally or through your organization, you can help us help Kevin and go beyond the match we can provide.

PS. Beyond our particular fund for Kevin, we have partnered with the national Parkinson’s Foundation ‘Community Partnership and Parkinson’s Care’ program to enter care facilities like the one in which Kevin now resides, to offer training to the nursing, nutrition, and occupational therapy staff – even maintenance staff – providing information and insight to assist those living with Parkinson’s. Because Kevin is unfortunately alone in his debilitating journey, like so many others who are challenged, it's crucial for someone to advocate on his behalf – and this partnership will teach the staff at the care center exactly how to do just that.

Thank you to our automotive family – from enthusiasts to professional organizations and even manufacturers – for supporting our efforts through multi-day drives, virtual events, online auctions, and additional clubs, groups, and organizations creating 1-day programs on our behalf nationwide. More than $1mm has already been raised to benefit local, regional, and grassroots programs and directives for Parkinson’s disease.
