Drive Toward a Cure has created its first grant giving program to directly support those with Parkinson’s Disease.

California Wildfire Grant Fund

November, 2018 – In the wake of the recent and devastating California wildfires, Drive Toward a Cure has recognized the unique needs those with Parkinson’s Disease face by the environmental impact of and being displaced by this natural disaster, and seeks to aid those people.

Future Programs

Additional paths for directly supporting Parkinson’s Disease research and patient care are currently under consideration. Possible directions include:

  • Assistance in providing support dogs.
  • Continued driver training for those with movement disorders.

National Programs

National organizations tend to spearhead the research in finding a cure Parkinson’s Disease, advocating at the top political levels, and helping to educate.

Parkinson’s Institute and Clinical Center

The Parkinson’s Institute and Clinical Center (PICC) does, in part, functions as a world-class research facility, studying the progression of Parkinson’s and pursuing a cure, while also developing therapies and treatments for those with Parkinson’s Disease today.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) exists primarily to raise money for and fund the most promising research, advocate at all levels of government, and educate.

Local Programs

Drive Toward a Cure recognizes the need for ground-level, hands-on support for those who are afflicted by Parkinson’s Disease today. At this time we are striving to support local organizations when and where our signature events take us.

Parkinson’s Institute and Clinical Center

A key component of the Parkinson’s Institute and Clinical Centers world-class research facility, is a clinic that primarily serves Californians, but also patients from around the United States and the world.

Parkinson Association of the Carolinas

The Parkinson Association of the Carolinas (“PAC”) was established to serve as a resource for individuals and their families living in the Carolinas who are affected by Parkinson’s disease.
