Drive Toward a Cure
Drive Toward a Cure is supporting Team Route 66 as they launch a long-distance ride from Chicago to Phoenix along historic Route 66 during the road’s centennial year, blending endurance, storytelling, and advocacy in an effort to broaden awareness of Parkinson’s disease and the many ways people who are challenged by and living with Parkinson's..
The journey will culminate in Phoenix in connection with the World Parkinson Congress beginning May 23rd, but the team’s larger aim is to make the miles between Chicago and Phoenix meaningful — one conversation, one story, and one community at a time.
The team includes 12 riders living with Parkinson’s. Roughly half the group will ride recumbent bikes, and Bill Bucklew and Jim Kroeger will ride a recumbent tandem — a rare bike that reflects the spirit and visual character of the month-long challenge. Riders are coming from across the United States and Canada, with a mix of experienced endurance cyclists and newer riders taking part.
100% of donations provided on this page will return to Team Route 66 and continue to help those living with Parkinson's disease
